Breakfast and departure for an exciting visit to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where you can see a statue of Ramses II weighing 23 tons, in pink granite, also the archaeological site of Sakara, with the oldest stepped pyramids in Egypt . In Giza we will visit Cheops, Chefren and Menkaure, themost famous pyramids on the planet.We will also go to the ValleyTemple and the Sphinx with the face of a man and the body of a lion. After lunch (not included), visit to the Papyrus Museum, where we willsee a presentation on how tomake the paperknown asthe oldest in the world. We will then proceed to the Cairo Museum, where we will visit the archaeological relics of Ancient Egypt,which date back 4,000 years, to the First Dynasty of the pharaohs.We will visit the riches discovered in the tomb of the pharaoh Tutankhamun, the pharaoh assassinated at the age of 18. From the richesfound in histomb, one can calculate the mmensity of what was stolen from the mortuary apparatus of the great pharaohs who ruled Egypt for the longest time. There is also a visit (optional) to the famous Mummies Room, where you can see, among others, the body of Pharaoh RamsesII, ruler of Egypt when Mosesfreed Israel from captivity.Transfer to the hotel, accommodation, dinner and rest.
Breakfast and departure for the Suez Canal, dug between 1859 and 1869 for navigation and transport between the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.The canal is now the biggestsource of income for the Egyptian economy. Breakfast and departure to cross the border with Israel, formalities to enter the country and we will be in the coastalcity of Eilat.We will have time to visit the underwater observatory and from there we willcontinue our journeythrough the Arava desert. On the way we will see the replica of the tabernacle from the time of Moses. Continuing the journey until reaching Jericho, within the territory of the Palestinian Authority,wherewewill discover the sycamore tree of Zacchaeus. We willvisit the fountain of Elizeu, the ruins of the wallsfromthe time of Joshua and a view of the Mount of Temptation which, according to tradition, is the place where Jesus was taken during the 40 days of fasting. Visit to the archaeological site of Qumran, where the Essenes lived. The oldest known copies of all Old Testament books were found there. From there we will head to the Dead Sea, which has the highestconcentration of salt in the world and where no one sinks. Arrival at the hotel, accommodation, time to enjoythe waters of the Dead Sea, dinner and rest.
After breakfast, depart for Banias, the extraordinary site of ancient Caesarea Philippi, at the foot of Mount Hermon, where Jesus foretold his own death and resurrection, scene of Peter’s important confession, recorded in Matthew 16:16. There we will see the sources of the Jordan River in the territories conquered by the tribe of Dan, where Psalm 42 was also written. The Sermon on the Mount, recorded in Matthew: 5 to 7. Capernaum, where Jesus settled during his ministry in Galilee. At lunch, the famous “Saint Peter fish”, caught in the Sea of Galilee. Then we will head to the port of Guinosar, where we will embark to cross the Sea of Galilee in a typical wooden boat. Then we will continue to Yadernit, a place built for baptism in the River Jordan, in the waters where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Continuing along the west bank of the Jordan River, we will arrive at present-day Nazareth, where Jesusspent hischildhood and adolescence. Accommodation at the hotel, dinner and rest.
After breakfast, we leave Nazaré and climb to the top of Monte do Precipício, from where you have a beautiful panoramic view of the Valley of Armageddon. Then visit Cana in Galilee, site of Jesus’ first miracle, when he turned water into wine at a wedding feast. Climbing Mount Carmel, we head to the place where the prophet Elijah invoked the presence of God and defeated the prophets of Baal. From the top of Carmel you have another beautiful panoramic view of the Armageddon Valley on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other. Short drive to the ruins of Caesarea Maritima, a city built by King Herod thatserved asthe capital of the province of Judea in New Testament times. Residence of Governor Pontius Pilate andmany other authoritiesrepresenting the power of Rome.There the centurion Corneliuslived and wasconverted, recorded in Acts10:1. Furthermore, Paul remained in prison at Caesarea Maritima before being sent to Rome. Acts22:23. In Joppa we will make a quickvisit on foot to the port where Jonah tried to escape to Tarshish. Breakfast and early departure to Mount Zion to visit the Cenacle, where the last supper of Jesus with his disciples and the baptism of the Holy Spirit took place on the days of Pentecost.
